That graphic is NOT hilarious. It's a bad trend of poorly done photoshops that was really popular at the time and everyone was doing them and Girl just went along with it. And it's not even a clever one. I've honestly seen more clever/better graphics from Selfish.

Girl used to be THE company to look up to, now I find their regular graphics are almost all text and logo driven like some Plan B bullshit, and most of their one-offs are lame and pander to a little kid demographic.

Those are all embarrassing in concept. Combine that with their shitty heat transfer process where the graphics chip off just from putting your tail on coping to drop in, and you just have completely undesirable boards to me.

And yes, both teams have a bunch of OG guys on the team that I still really like, no diss to them at all. And dudes like Raven and Elijah are definitely some of the sickest dudes coming up right now, but do they fit in on Chocolate? Definitely not. Girl, maaaaaaayyybe. Chocolate, no way. I understand that hesh skating is hot right now, but those dudes just don't fit on the team. I like them, but don't like them on Chocolate.

And then obviously I don't need to speak of their terrible video releases (Meza's stuff is still good, but not prominent enough.)

I agree, old Girl/Chocolate was THE SHIT, but I think people are still hung up on that thinking that they can't do wrong ever.

Not sure where you're going with the Girl/Chocolate frustration. For one, the new additions to both teams are sick. Elijah Berle and especially Raven Tershy are two of the sickest dudes coming up now. Also, that graphic is hilarious. I get the worry about Dyrdek buying workshop, but I think the Girl hate is misplaced.

Under Burton's ownership Alien has not only tended towards saturated, generic logo boards and Billabong-esque screen prints all over shirts, but more alarmingly has also implemented some 'collabos' just as preposterous as Dyrdek's - Celtic sea salt? Paul Frank???
That said; high hopes for Dyrdek to bring it back home.
Also, to be fair, the example you posted of Girl's misdirection is in all honesty far more in line with their early art direction that a lot of their other recent work.
